Huhhhh.....!?!

Your specs state you have an ASUS P5B-VM MOBO.

Is that this MOBO? Newegg.com - ASUS P5B-VM LGA 775 Intel G965 Express Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

If so, WTH are you doing running off of that HDD?

With all due respect, you are either BSing the forum or you need to scrape together $50 and get a new SATA II HDD.

Question remains: Why use a PATA/IDE drive (an old one to boot) when the ASUS P5B-VM MOBO has 5 SATA ports?

If you want better HD-Tune results upgrade the HDD ro a SATA II drive. In the meantime, my suggestion that the critical data on that drive be backed up stands.

You can mix and match SATA and IDE on the same PC. And you can also get a new DVD drive that uses SATA.

Hard Drive Partitioning Performance Issues
The current hardware is available: 1 x 120GB 1 x 250GB 1 x 1TB 1 x 1TB I intend to store my data on all of the HDDs but as the 1TBs are newer than the other smaller ones, their performance is also much better. So if I partition lets say one of the 1 TB HDDs like: Partition 1 60GB - OS
