The WEI is what one would expect because the access time is only 12.8 ms. That would be 0.1 if it were an SSD which gets a WEI well over 7 with about the same data transfer rate.

New member here, but definitely an old hand at working with computer hardware/software:

Just recently purchased Windows 7 Premium to cover over my expired Windows 7 Ultimate, and setup a RAID 0 with my two 500gig WesternDigital AAKS Caviar Black's... Heres the screeny! Its average rivals several of the SSD's for quarter the price.. but again, that seek time is always a bummer!

The access time is very good. The data transfer is a little erratic. You must have had something else using the disk during the test.

Good evening all! I have a question for you:

I have purchased a 750GB Samsung HDD, with Windows 7 installed on it. These are the results of the test:

But I already have a 640GB Western Digital HDD:

There is a difference of about 15 or 20% between the two HDD (WD > Samsung of course).

So I was thinking to erase the WD HDD, use my Samsung for videos, musics, iso and pictures instead of for windows and games, and re-install Win7 on the Western Digital HDD to increase the system speed. Am I right? Because reformating and re-installing everything is a very long process so it must be worth ^^

    thank you
