Here is 2TB WD Green WD20EARS - 3 platter model ESATA connection followed by a 1TB WD Black running in low acoustics mode (it is a LOT quieter but doesn't suffer too horribly in seek times):

Good info here.

After using HD Tune just to do a quick comparison and finding that my D: drive is almost twice as fast as my C: drive I will be swapping them over.
C: 3x WD 320Gb, D: 2x Seagate 1Tb

Took new screen prints with nothing else running, here they are:- the first is 3x 320 Western Digital Caviar drives in Raid0 These drives three years old. The 2nd is 2x Seagate 1Tbye drives in Raid0 quite new. The third is 2x Hitachi 71(500) 2.5" drives in Raid0 brand new.
I have another pair of 750Gb drives about 2years old and not yet configuered in Raid0 to try a little later.
The fastest will go in my Main machine which runs Win 7 Ultimate x64 the slowest in my Backup machine which runs XP profesional x64.

Looks like the 2x Seagate 1Tbye drives in Raid0 are the winners.

Quite an improvement from the 320 Western Digital Caviars.

Hard Drive Partitioning Performance Issues
The current hardware is available: 1 x 120GB 1 x 250GB 1 x 1TB 1 x 1TB I intend to store my data on all of the HDDs but as the 1TBs are newer than the other smaller ones, their performance is also much better. So if I partition lets say one of the 1 TB HDDs like: Partition 1 60GB - OS
