    Your specs state you have an ASUS P5B-VM MOBO.

    Is that this MOBO? Newegg.com - ASUS P5B-VM LGA 775 Intel G965 Express Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

    If so, WTH are you doing running off of that HDD?

    With all due respect, you are either BSing the forum or you need to scrape together $50 and get a new SATA II HDD.

    Question remains: Why use a PATA/IDE drive (an old one to boot) when the ASUS P5B-VM MOBO has 5 SATA ports?

    If you want better HD-Tune results upgrade the HDD ro a SATA II drive. In the meantime, my suggestion that the critical data on that drive be backed up stands.

    I use it because my DVD drive uses IDE cables too.

    You can mix and match SATA and IDE on the same PC. And you can also get a new DVD drive that uses SATA.
