Any use for this (now) external set of usb ports and jacks?

For my current laptop with is Z500 ideapad by Lenovo.

I think really from a hardware perspective the only way to install it (taken from an old toshiba laptop) would be to open the Ideapad laptop and hope there is a socket for the ports, and feed it through a hole in one side of the laptop. I doubt there is though as the mobo likely won't support it, but correct if I am wrong.

If there is a way to use these even with an external unit (like plugging an external supporter unit into the Lenovo and attaching these to that) I'd like guidance or info on how to do this or suggestions if such a unit exists. Thanks.

bit of a random question but I am trying to use old parts (I also have the dvd drive, old ram (which iirc it used to be 4gb of ddr3 when I bought it but since I bumped it up/and or replaced it with 8gb of ddr3), the screen, mobo, and a fan). Any other standalone uses (even selling them, most of the components in this laptop are more modern that the toshiba).

It seems an internal computer USB port device. Don't try to use on another computer.

So you don't see any use of this at all? Even selling seems like a waste of time, the amount I'd get back isn't too far from the average price of postage and packing.
edit: the blueray drive however, I might find use in that with my current laptop.
