WIn7 Pro My C: drive shows as hd #2 instead of HD O zero.?

    WIn7 Pro My C: drive shows as hd #2 instead of HD O zero.?


    I was in my disc management today and noticed that my C: drive was ont on the top zero location but all the way down at #2 HD.

    Question is how do I move it back to to where is should be?

    PC is a Dell 8700 desktop running Windows 7 premium

    Looks like disk 2 is first in the bios boot order. Check the sata data connectors. If you look in the manual it should tell you which is which.

    page 13. Sata 0 is the blue one.

    Then you have to rely on the pnp enumeration.

    Disk drive numbers may not correspond to the SATA channel numbers when you install Windows on a computer that has multiple SATA or RAID disks

    Yup that was it. Im wondering how many years ago I reversed them......
