Boot Drive C:/ quandary. How to reverse the C:/ & D:/ Drives.

I have an USFF System that accommodates two Internal Drives.
Disk 0, Drive C:/ is a 1T Hard Drive which houses the O/S, W7-Pro.
Disk 1, Drive D:/ is a 1T Solid State Drive which houses a System Image and full Backup.

I am looking for the easiest method to reverse these two Devices.

Disk 0 is a SATA Drive.
Disk 1 is a NVME Drive.

There are no other Internal Connector other than the one for the DVD / CD, which is SATA.
There are eight USB External Connectors, four USB.2 (Black) and four USB.3 (Blue).

Please suggest a methodology to migrate the O/S to Disk 1 from Disk 0.

Can you post a disk management screenshot?

diskgenius free version is the right tool for os migration, but you might want to move data around beforehand or change modes depending on what the situation is in disk management

Is drive d a full working system or just a image ie if you remove c does d boot?

There is about 310gb used space on disk1

There is 711gb free space on disk 0 partition D


1. First Move the 310 gb data from disk 1 to disk 0 partition D

2. Use diskgenius free version to migrate the operating system from disk0 to disk1.

It might be easiest to move the data using the Move To context menu. 310gb data will take a while to move to a mechanical disk.

If there is anything currently on C that you do not want to migrate, move that to D as well

When that is done, the free version of diskgenius :

click os migration



select the target disk



click start ( you could optionally include any other partitions from the source disk)



click hot migration
