Has Anyone Tried an Intel Core i7 12700KF With Win 7 Please

    Hi,
I've been recommended to use an Intel Core i7 12700KF with Win7 Ultimate SP1 64Bit, and wondered if anyone had tried it?

I don't do gaming, but am into image processing and video creation/editing.

I've read reports about the processor that say Win7 cannot make full use of all it has to offer.

    Any advice gratefully received.

    Ian

New computers are not compatible with Win 7 but you can use some workaround to make it work.
On a laptop it is quite impossible. Must be a desktop with some specific hardware.
It is not the CPU the main obstacle. It is the MB BIOS.

What is the hardware specs of the computer?

Perhaps you could reproduce the answer here, or at least link to it. Might be useful to other people.

If you can see my signature below, I list "latest" hardware that will for sure work since the motherboard or computer manufacture should have Win 7 drivers by default without hacked drivers.

    - - - Updated - - -

The most "recent" CPUs to still support Windows 7 would be the following 2066 socketed CPUs:

    Code:
    7980XE
    7960X
    7940X
    7920X
    7900X
    7820X
    7800X
    7740X

Here are some other year 2017 CPUs that should support Windows 7 via the manufacture's drivers.

    Code:
    7700K
    7700
    7700T
    7640X
    7600K
    7600
    7600T
    7500
    7500T
    7400
    7400T
    7350K
    7320
    7300
    7300T
    7100
    7100T
    7101E
    7101TE
    G4620
    G4600
    G4600T
    G4560
    G4560T
    G3950
    G3930
    G3930T
    7920HQ
    7820HQ
    7820HK
    7700HQ
    7660U

Again, the year 2017 is going to be the absolute latest of Intel CPUs to support Windows 7 by the computer or motherboard manufacturer.

    Hi SIW2,

As soon as I've implemented the suggestion provided, and assuming it works without unnecessary "tweaking", I will.

    Hi F22 Simpilot,

Thanks for all this information - much appreciated.

I shall make use of the info if the recent suggestion should not be as workable as it sounds.
