Can't change mouse pointer speed; keeps reverting to original speed.

My computer has a new problem. The moused worked fine last time I used it, but now the pointer moves too slow for me. I go into the control panel and change the pointer speed to fast, click apply, then okay - but the mouse is still too slow. Open mouse control panel again, go to pointer options and the setting has reverted to where it was before I changed it. I've gone back in there and changed it numerous times, but it just won't stick.
The mouse is a Logitech M325 wireless. Same one I've been using trouble free until today. I've tried restarting. Then uninstalling the driver, restarting, and installing it again (installs automatically when I insert the dongle). No matter what, changes to the pointer speed will not stick. I move the arrow all the way right to 'fast', click apply, ok, and pointer speed always reverts to original setting.
Anyone know why all the sudden, and how I can fix this? I have another of the same mouse with its own dongle, and they're both doing it. Maddening.
    Thanks. Arlis

Logitech has their own app for their mouse. Try installing that.
