Modern SATA 6 HDDs not fitting in external docs?

I have a Seagate ST2000DM008 SATA 6 HDD that connects fine to SATA 6 in my Windows 7 PC, but it won't fit in my Thermaltake HDD dock; despite original older SATA 6 HDDs will fit.

Thermaltake is not helpful. They say the dock I'm using is old but it's USB 3 and also fits 2.5 inch SATA 6 HDDs and older SATA 6s. Seagate isn't helpful either. I don't want to buy a new dock unless I know it will fit.

The dimensions of the Seagate are:
    Width: 101.85 mm
    Depth: 146.99 mm
    Height: 20.20 mm

Supposedly, according to AI the standard dimensions of a standard HDD are:
    Width: 101.6 mm
    Depth: 146 mm
    Height: 25.4 mm

I should add that Thermaltake believes either the HDD has a unique bracket preventing it from being inserted into the dock OR the dock may be too old and not support the newer brackets while still supporting SATA 6.

I haven't found any reliable plug-in USB 3 SATA 6 cable adapters online. All seem to be rated poorly or just don't work.

I dont have the kind of dock you mention, but those ST2000DM008 disks fit fine in caddies like these

They fit no problem in a PC case. I need them to fit in a USB/SATA dock. Unlike my WD and non-hybrid Seagates before, these newer reiterations don't fit (vertically). This is the type dock I am referring to:

However, these fittings might come in handy for a new PC in about 2 or 3 years. My current full size case isn't quite wide enough for the new GPUs.
