EXTERNAL device extending the Systems Bus adding more SATA Connectors?
The original IBM PC had an Add-On Device that extended the Systems Bus providing 7 or 8 additional Bus Slots.
I do not know what its "official" name was, but it was the size of the PC itself.
I would really like to find a similar device to add to my HP Elite 8300 CMT.
I envision a Tower type structure to house additional 3.5 / 2.5 inch Drives.
Might any Forum Member know of a device like / similar to this description?
The USB approach I have been using for my Virus Scanning / Picasa project is going nowhere fast and I'm 80 years old.
I need some fresh wind to get this project completed while I'm still alive.
I have over 100 Drives to Scan for Viruses and then merged on to one huge Picasa.
I'll be trying to eliminate duplicates as I go however, from my experience to date, I'll have over 20,000 non duplicate photos.
Please give this request some thought as I need the help.
Best regards,
Mike Lynch

I had a nightmare last night!
I put two HP Elite 8300's side by side with the Access Covers removed.
I mounted three 3.5-inch Drives in one and three 3.5-inch Drives in the other.
I used a 2.5 inch SSD with the O/S on it in the first 8300.
Next, I used a SATA Port PCIe Card to add four additional Sata Ports to the 8300 with the O/S.
Then I used 18-inch SATA Cables to reach to the second 8300.
I used the second 8300's Power Cables to drive the three 3.5-inch drives mounted in it.
Well, it worked just fine. (in my dream)
I'll try and actually set it up today.
Essentially, I need a SATA "mounting" Device to house and power Drives.
Any ideas or thoughts that might help are Invited / Welcome.
