Windows 7 64bit and USB WLAN adapters

I'm having really hard time getting my USB wlan adapter(s) working in Windows 7 64 bit (Home Premium). I have tried 3 different ones that all should have working drivers but luck.

The one that I've had most success (actually showing up as wlan adapter \o/) is Buffalo WirelessN-Nfiniti WLI-UC-G300N. I've downloaded W7 x64 drivers from Buffalo Technology - Support - Downloads
I run the autorun application and install the driver. Driver installer finishes installation successfully (or at least is says so), but Windows itself pops up note saying that "Driver installation failed" (not sure about correct wording as the Windows is running in my native language, not english) and the adapter doesn't work.

Any ideas what to do? My next plan is to connect computer to internet via cables and update windows, but I really don't have high hopes that it will work.

Other two adapters that I've tried are:
Buffalo WLI-U2-G54AI
Asus WL-167G

EDIT: Solution found. Problem was not the USB wlan adapter or Windows 7 but Asus P7P55D motherboard. It has some issues with USB. So download new bios from:

Unzip the file and copy .ROM file to your USB memorycard (and leave it to machine). Don't read the bios updater manual. It talks something about making boot disk. It's not required at all. Boot the machine to bios. Under the utilities there is EUpdater2 or comething like that. It can be used to update bios. Just select the .ROM file and flash it. When the computer next time boots your problems are solved.

Have you tried not installing any drivers at all, and letting the Windows drivers be used instead?

I also noticed yesterday that I cannot re-install the driver as the installer says it is already installed :P

Btw, is it normal that uninstalling driver takes ~20 minutes or so in W7?

Thank you I'll try that. I haven't really played around with "compatibility modes" as I have been using XP before this and everything worked really fine in there.

I had naive hope that everything will work in W7 out of the box. Just plug the adapter in USB and I would be ready to go :)

Got yours working, lets see the OP.

Ok, anyone has any idea why my driver uninstallation takes so long? Now it has been removing the NFinity driver almost an hour. I can reinstall whole Windows faster than remove one driver :P

EDIT: Got pissed with it and killed the uninstallation from task manager. When shutting down the Windows it gets stuck until I remove NFiniti adapter from USB port. Once I remove it the computer shuts down immediately.

EDIT2: My ATI Graphic Card drivers install without any problems... If it means anything :P

EDIT3: I connected my computer to internet via cables and updated my Windows. Still the same. Interesting note that while NFiniti adapter is connected computer cannot recognize any other USB devices. Might there be something wrong in my USB ports/drivers/something?
