Belkin Wireless N+ Network Adapter Issue

I recently bought a N+ Belkin adapter, as my old adapter did not support Windows 7 and our household is upgrading to an N router soon.

The USB adapter (model number F5D8055) works fine on a vista desktop that is connected to the router, and will seemingly install on my Windows 7 rig, but it will not detect any wireless networks, or even enable. When asked to enable, it says it is enabling, claims to be enabled, and then continues to not work.

CD, of course, will not install drivers, as they are vista-only. The online drivers don't seem to work, nor does manually installing the 64 bit vista drivers from the cd.

Any ideas on how to make it connect? I'm fairly certain it's a driver compatablility issue
    .
    Thanks.

    Tried that, to no avail.

Edit: If at first you don't succeed. I had no confidence in my own aptitude, so i gave it another shot.

Still doesn't work. To be more specific, trying to run it in any sort of compatibility mode now causes it to install seemingly normally for a few seconds, but then simply close itself.

I'd be lying if i said i had any inkling of what i was doing.
