    W7 x64 + iTunes + iPod Touch

Is it just me, or is iTunes really buggy in W7 x64?

When I first got my iPod, I couldn't sync it in iTunes. Every time I tried to, the program just freezes and I couldn't click anything until I unplug my ipod from my computer.

I got it to work by updating the filmware using my old Windows XP, and now itunes on w7 can at least communicate with my iPod touch.

But still, there are some problems with syncing.

I'm only sometimes able to put music and videos on my iPod, and even then, I can't edit the tracks or anything.
And now after I jailbroke it, it freezes every time I try to sync it with my computer.

It still works on my windows XP computer though.

But it's very tedious to keep transferring all my stuff to my old windows XP and having to put it on my iPod using my old computer.

And converting music and videos would be a pain. (Old Celeron D vs Quad core i5)

So, if iTunes doesn't work on Windows 7, I might have to dual-boot this computer with XP to get it to work, but I don't have an actual copy of XP, so I don't want to do that.

Do anybody else have this problem?

Yep Itunes ver 9.x+ crashes, and is just plain buggy. 32bit is ok, so far

I have been using iTunes 9.x with Windows 7 x64 with no problems or issues. I use an iPod classic however.

    Alrighty guys...here's the deal.
I just got over with a 3 hour long conversation with someone from apple support.

The problem is caused by either the operating system I'm using (Windows 7 x64), my processor (Intel Core i5), or my chipset in my motherboard (P55) - or all three of those.

So, if any of you have a problem with getting iTunes to work, and you have one of those things that I listed above, it might just be your computer that's the issue.

For now, I'm just going to set up a home network with my XP computer and sync my ipod using XP.

Maybe it is a secret conspiracy to try to make you switch over to a Mac.....is Steve Jobs hiding in your backyard? Watch out!

Im having an issue too with even the latest itunes 10 and it still wont let me sync.
itunes freezes and my computer is running at less than 10% with most i7 cores doing nothing.
It may be the P55 chip set from gigabyte because aside from 64bit OS that's all we have in common.

just to report back, i have installed itunes 64, imported my library, backed up my iphone, synced my new playlists to my phone, transferred my purchases (apps) to my computer, updated my phone to the new software, and synced my phone back up with my new computer...

although it took quite a while, it all worked without a hiccup... what else was yours doing that may be the problem?
