I have windows 7 ultimate 64bit, i plug the wd5000p032 external hd and the problem is that in device manager i have this error WD&External_HDD_Button_&_Lights could not recognize, but the disk, as disk work, also in win vista 32bit ultimate that i had before, there was no problem, any solution???
I downloaded and installed 'WD My Book Pro, Pro II, Premium, and Premium II FireWire driver' from WD Support > Downloads > Legacy External > My Book Premium Edition, rebooted and the problem was gone.
After the reboot, the following drivers are listed for the device:
C:\Windows\system312\DRIVERS\disk.sys
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\partmgr.sys
and WD&External_HDD_Button_&_Lights is no longer there.
