Speedfan is notorious for reporting at least one out of whack temp. Sometimes it'll show one as 127C even. Depending on the motherboard.

For Christmas, I built a AMD PC for my niece using a Athlon2 x2 and a Gigabyte board.

It too, showed the exact same readings, with Temp3 in mid 70s climbing to low 80s during gaming.

So i believe this is some form of misinterpretation w/the gigabyte board and Speedfan. Possibly a reference to the chipset , and its just off.

I would take a look at the temps the software your Motherboard came with shows, if it worries you.

Youll find most of the core items will match closely to Speedfan with no reference to That high 3rd one

:) i dont think theres any reason for alarm quite honestly.

As Adrian pointed out in the previous post:

If you were truly running anything at 82C, there would be a clear sign of it by now.

OK, many thanks to you, Adrian & Wishmaster, for these new opinions, and especially you, "Wish", for this experience you shared here, which seems to confirm the "absurd value" theory...

Many many thanks to the all staff of this forum, each person who has taken a part of this thread, and all the members who make this forum richer each day!
