Use my router as a fax modem?

Is it possible to use my netgear router as a fax modem with windows fax? I am sure it can be done as very few people have old clunky modems these days.

    Any ideas folks?

You'll probably find all you can do is use your router to access a fax gateway service online vai DSL/Cable, I'm very dubious about your router being able to use it's DSL connection to access the PSTN system...

To get fax running direct to the telephone network you'll need a fax-modem, typically in the guise of a PCI card or USB device...

    Hi Andy

I've found this thread on another forum which may or may not shed some light on the issue for you.

This is a DSL device. It does not have the ability to act as a fax/voice modem.
