My PC doesn't like new USB devices...
I upgraded to Win7 the day after it's release, from WinXP. Did a new install. Things have worked just fine for me after that, except for a driver that I needed to update in the first couple of days (HP scanner didn't get recognized, but update was released a day or two later and all was good then).
Anyway, recently I have been having problems where if I try and plug in a new (to this PC) USB device, it will try and load the drivers, but it fails. Generally, these are various USB Flash drives, but I also received an iPod Touch for Xmas, and the same thing happens with it. Also happens with a digital camera and it's memory card (either via an adapter to directly read the card, or via a USB cable directly to the camera).
I know the devices work because I can access them on other PCs (but those are all XP boxes), and I know the USB port on my Win7 box works because I have a Flash Drive I use daily that still works, as well as several USB peripherals that work fine (HP printer, Logitech wireless mouse, etc).
Any suggestions on what might be going on or what to do here????
