    My CPU is wicked cool.
    (sorry, I couldn't resist)
Not really, an E8400 is old even clocked higher. I'd prefer my Phenom 550 Black Edition @ 3.1GHz stock anyday.
Fair point. But moving to my E8400 was a big upgrade from my old(er) 1.63ghz Athlon w/512MB RAM.....hence my affection for it.

any of the solutions posted will in fact work--just depends on what you're looking for and how much you're willing to spend.

very decent air cooled cpu coolers, decent and (relatively) inexpensive all-in-one liquid cooled solutions, and obviously high-end expensive liquid cooled solutions.

i suggested the corsair hydro h50, but i've also read very good things about the CoolIT (Kipper's post)--both will set you back approx $80. speaking specifically about the corsair, the installation was about 45 minutes--depending upon whether or not you have to remove the motherboard. i have a haf932 with a cpu cutout in the motherboard tray and i still had to remove the board. i don't know about the CoolIT. you may or may not have to remove the motherboard with some of the air coolers too.

i guess it's up to you now...

Go for water cooling - future proof.
I recommend the H50-1 series from Corsair.
