SSD or HDD?
I'm making another rig and need to know which type of Hard drive to get. A Solid-State Drive or a regular Hard Drive. Which would you choose? What are the pros and cons?

If you have the cash, get both. Put OS and apps on the SSD, and use the HDD for storage, pagefiles, etc.
Benefits to SSD
1). Very fast read time
2). Extremely low access times (0.1ms or below usually)
3). No need to defrag
4). No need to run Indexing (as the drive can find things almost instantly)
5). Can likely turn off prefetch caching as drive can start apps anyway almost instantly
6). Can scan entire hard drive for viruses and malware usually in less than 2 minutes
7). Silent and very small. Can hide them anywhere in the case.
Disadvantages of SSD
1). Lower capacity
2). Higher Price
3). Industry is always improving them, so always something better right around the corner.
4). Drives without TRIM support can slow down over time, but a secure erase brings em back to day 1.
SSD:
Pros: Very fast, uses little power, generates less heat, reliable as there are no moving parts
Cons: Expensive, costly, and pricey
HDD:
Pros: Cheap
Cons: they use more power, generate more heat, and are susceptible to mechanical failures
Hope this helps,

I'm also slightly wondering why a Intel 2.8ghz processor costs more than a AMD 3.0ghz proccessor.... That's wierd.
Thanks guys. That really helps. SSDs seem like the way to go.....
