    Shutdown spins DVD

Hello. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts/suggestions for the following:

When shutting down under Win7 64-bit, if I leave a cd/dvd disc in the drive it briefly spins it for a second or two just before final shutdown. I don't recall this occurring with Vista and was wondering if this was just a setting issue. I have tried to find some information on the manufacturer's site (the drive is a lite-on DVDRW LH-20A1L with the latest firmware) with no luck.

I wouldn't worry about it, is there a dvd in the drive when it turns off?

Yes. Having a disc in the drive will cause it to be accessed (and spun) during shutdown. When there is no disc in the drive, then it does not spin during shutdown. I'm not particularly worried about it since an obvious 'fix' would be just to take the game disc out prior to shutdown, but I was just curious as to why the system would spin it when the disc is present. I know it's not due to my antivirus which does have a setting to 'check CDs when logging off' as it's not activated (Avast Antivirus) so I thought it was a Win7 issue.
