I think my BIOS was factory locked, because a lot of options on it are greyed out. How can I unlock that to adjust some settings.

I have an Insyde BIOS 1.40
I have a AMD Athlon IIx4 620 64 bit also cant understand why the bios settings are greyed out ?

Removing the CMOS (BIOS) battery will not unlock any hidden or disabled BIOS settings. All it will do is reset your custom BIOS settings back to factory default and mess up your time and date. You can do the same thing though the "Reset to defaults" BIOS menu option. Once you do it, you will have to go back into the BIOS menus and set you date and time, boot order, etc. You would have to flash your BIOS with a file that didn't have those features locked out. As mentioned, depending on where you get the hacked BIOS file, it could end up being a very risky adventure.
