Wondering if a SATA card (VIA VT6421A) works with W7x64

Hey gang. I wondered if anyone had any experience with Windows 7's compatibility with the SATA chipset "VIA VT6421A"? My motherboard's manufacturer has no intention of Windows 7 (64bit) compatibility for the SATA interface (Gigabyte GA-K8NS-939). My main data drive is a 500gb SATA and is completely unreachable in W7x64. I decided to turn to Ebay to see what there is in terms of SATA PCI cards and it looks like the VAST majority of them are all of the VIA VT6421A chipset. However I haven't been able to find anything that says 'yay' or 'nay' in terms of if they actually work with Windows 7(x64).

Has anyone here had experience with this?

    You looked here,

    Drivers - Download

maybe even try contacting Via and asking them.

Need to redirect that at Nvidia as they are the one's that made the chpiset (NF3) and wrote the drivers for it. Not much Gigabyte can do when Nvidia won't write the drivers for the chipset, mostly because the declared it EOL (end of life) about a day and a half after the NF4 chipset came out (was a bit longer than that, but not by much)

Thanks for the link and quick reply. Although I apologize because I don't exactly understand the above portion of your reply. Are you saying *that* is the driver I should download for cards with the VIA VT6421A chip?

    Thnx!

It appears to be the one for it,

Supported Chips: VT8251 Integrated Serial ATA RAID controller, VT8237 Integrated Serial ATA RAID controller, Discrete Serial ATA RAID controllers VT6420/1, CX700 Integrated Serial ATA RAID controller, VX700 Integrated Serial ATA RAID controller, VX800 Integrated Serial ATA RAID controller
Doesn't have the A in it, but like I said you can try contacting Via to confirm or asking on their forums,
