Nice. How is it? It looks pretty beast, and it would certainly match my computer case and theme. (Solid black with Blue lights)

Windows 7 x64 build 7068

I have had it now for about a week, replacing a Trip Lite 500 watt, and it is excellent. Power is not too good here so I can see lights dim, blink, etc and I will notice this in the other room out of the conner of my eye while my monitor and pc run smooth as silk.

Have not had a power failure yet, kinda waiting for one to test it out. Could just unplug it...

The lcd display shuts off after a minute or so leaving just the power blue light on. Have not really looked on how to change the display to always on. I have been messing with Win builds and so have not even installed the auto shutdown software yet, so as to that I can not yet comment.

My case is also black with blue lights and the UPS looks great next to it. I went with the CyberPower in a bit of a hurry, ordered it on the way out before a trip and really only went off of general specs and reviews from Newegg, but have to say luck was on my side as it is the best I have had yet. Prior to the Trip Lite I had a APC, both were excellent but the CyberPower is my favorite so far for performance, power load, and cost.

Seems a bit spendy for those specs but I am not familiar with pricing in your country. So it is a bit tough for me to say, in the US that would not be so good, video card and power supply seem a bit low.

I do not do too much with the Intel side but I think that the 7400 is a solid cpu, need to get some Intel replies to find out if that version is the best bang for the buck.

The GeForce GTX 275 are just coming out along with the already out ATI 4890 so there are two solid choices for under $250 if that fits your budget. Both of those cards almost give you $500 performance for half the cost.

As for power supply, I am a fan of spending a bit more on this. If you are not doing a lot of gaming or video apps 400 watt could be just enough. I would try for the 650 to 750 range to push games, a solid 550 could get you by but be sure to look at the amps per rail so that if you do a better video card you hit the recommended specs.

Should have great performance up 1680 x 1050. 1920 x 1200 should run medium setting levels just fine, but at 1680 or below you should be close to max settings in those games. Crysis, takes a lot of money to run it on max settings, is the killer, but FarCry 2, Fallout 3 and GTA IV no problems.

Overclock the 720 to 3.6 ghz, just change the multiplier and give it a little voltage bump. Test out 3.6 with stock voltage, and increase a little if needed, just say under 1.5 volts and you are fine, 1.40-1.45 usually. The heatsink that comes with the 720 is fair and will keep the cpu under 50C under load. A $30 Artic Cooling heatsink will keep you under 40C. 720's run cool even overclocked.

HD4890 is a solid card and one of the best for bangs for the buck. You should have no issues with the games.

Overall strong system. :)

Only "con" with the 720's is the application side, dvd encoding etc. They still run well but a bit slower than the quads. But for games they pretty much tie the quads.

May want to save some money on the soundcard, onboard sound is pretty good these days. Could test out the onboard and decide later if you need a dedicated card for sound.
