    For only $7.13 each when QTY 50+ purchased - DVI Male Digital/DVI Male Digital Dual Link 28AWG Cable - 15FT (Gold Plated/Black) | 28AWG DVI-D Cables

if anyone else has any ideas id love to hear them... I want the cable anyway but that might not fix the problem *worries*

15ft? Is that the length you have now? And do you need it that long?

nah I want a 15 footer anyway, ive got the factory one which is wimpy and just a bit too short for my tastes. this will give me the excuse to set my pc remote, which ive wanted to do for ages now, only have my monitor and speakers (along with kb mouse joypad and an external optical drive) anywhere near me, and the box itself off in the distance out of sight out of mind. My current setup is thus:

ayup same here, but usb is a beautiful thing, especially when you can if careful run a single cable upwards of 30 feet without issue even with the most fussy usb devices. Check my sig, nothing ive got is wireless (excepting of course the netbook to my left)

Im going to have to buy 3 pairs of shielded RCA cables, a usb extension, a dvi cable, and a usb2 optical drive (I like the small notebook style ones I can fit under my lcd) to pull this off, but Ive wanted to do this for like forever now.

hmm just had an idea. Maybe plug kb/mouse into a usb hub then run a long cable into the other room.

Very interesting. the problem has not shown itself since upgrading to build 7068...
Not secure that it won't show it's ugly head again yet, but it seems like it might be solved.

    Odd to say the least.

I can't say I have seen the exact same issues you have, but I have had some issues with this same monitor. I got the Acer AL2216W from the $50 Best Buy deal a few weeks ago. Anyway, I notice an issue with it waking up. My second monitor, which is an old HP, will wake immediately and come back from sleep fine. However, this Acer monitor struggles. Usually it flashes several times and I get a message about how the driver had failed and recovered.

While I dont have a solution yet, I just wanted to pass along that I have seen issues with this monitor.

BTW, this is with build 7057 x86.
