    That would be my guess also ...
    and It's been my experience that an enclosure can be less reliable than the HDD that's in it.

    But your term "in a case" can mean several things ..
    What's the Make n Model ... or did you install it in the computer.

    Update finely got new HD to start .!!
    It was a RAW not formatted, Now I tried to format from disk management and get the message that it can''t be formatted must try two options and nothing?? I want to format (all of it) to NTFS for second(slave) HD for storage.
    any suggestions??

    Does it show in disk manager as unallocated space? If so, rt. click and choose 'create simple volume' and follow the steps.

    Rt. click the partition and click on delete volume. Then try rt. click and create new simple volume. If that isn't an option you may have to also delete partition to get to unallocated space. I can't remember for sure off the top of my head.

    Problem solved I used PowerSuite2010 and it took about a minute presto formated..!!
