    CD ROM on SAS port?

Is their a way to make this recognize the CD Rom outside of Windows so I can boot from the CD?

I have 4 OCZ SSD's and a 1TB Caviar Black and a 300GB Velociraptor HDD taking up all of my SATA Ports, So I have to use the two SAS 1 for my SATA Connector on the front of my rig, and the other for my CDROM. They work in Windows 7 environment, But i cannot boot from the CD Drive outside of windows?

    Any ideas?

Specs of my PC are in my profile. Thanks!

On p. 2-30 of the manual (e4262, as downloaded from support.asus.com), it states:

"When ICH10R SATA ports are set to RAID or AHCI mode, SAS HDDs can be detected in the Windows environment only."

I believe that this applies to SATA drives used on the Marvell SAS controller as well. This is from October 2008 - I don't know whether this limitation continues with BIOS versions released since then.

Sorry that I can't be more encouraging. Maybe an add-on SATA controller card would give you the additional ports that you need.
