Yeah, that does look like it is going to be the king of the hill under Intel at least for now.

Your not supposed to defrag an SSD.
I wonder if the IT guy knew?

, you'd see it wasn't the price that is the problem.
It still takes the shine of it though...

At least the minimum performance rate plateaus to some degree and even at minimum performance a very few of those drives will still largely outperform current HDD's.

Either way, I'm not in that much of a rush now to grab one

I've sometimes had a drive defrag in stupidly quick time. It's due to the fact that the HD was defragged mere moments before LOL.

I just posted this in the ReBoot Time thread. OCZ Vertex 30GB with 1275 firmware on XPS M1330. W7 build 7068 x64. Read the whole 30 page article, and the update article, checked Newegg, they are on sale.... the rest is history....LOL

Nice - glad those things are working out for ya.

OCZ is really making a name for themselves, and I expect to see more good things come from them.

I read the article, in full. I have to say, when I finally do buy a SSD drive for my home use, it wil be an OCZ. When I buy them for work, they'll be Intel though. Money no object there and speed is most important.

    Very nice!

Edit: For work, that's the servers. If I get the budget to put SSDs in the workstations, I'd go with OCZ drives since a balance of price and performance is what's used there.

I am wondering if there is a chance that SSDs will with the release of windows 7 grow in popularity ? Every inovation seems to cost the earth then over time become cheap as chips :) Lets hope history repeats itself . I lke the idea of SSD :)
