Add printer button does literally nothing!

Hello, I got a new printer the other day, when I came to adding it, I installed the drivers and stuff. However when I want to Right click the printer and go to the printer preferences & Printer properties options I click and nothing. In further inspection the Add printer button does NOTHING as well. When ever I try to print from ANY program it just says: An error occurred during the operation. This was also happening with the old printer so its something to do with Windows 7.

    Please help!
    Thanks
    Tom.

if that doesn't work, you need to replace the cfgmgr32.dll in your windows\system32 folder

would probably 'repair' the os. Sounds like it will take longer to troubleshoot the issue than to repair the os. /shrugs

    Hello Tom,

Have you checked to make sure the printer is compatible? http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...s/default.aspx.

Here are some quick instructions for setting up your printer (if it is compatible) on a Windows 7 machine: Install a printer.

    Cheers,
    Tara
