    23inch LCD

    Hey there
I just bought a new LCD 23inches set up at 1920 x 1080 and this thing look so bright to me. Using DVI-D cable and I set brightness to as less as possible. I was using 17inches normal monitor before. Are these LCD are just too bright and big or its me who is feeling like this cause I was using a small screen before?

    I m using LG M237WA

make sure that you have the latest drivers for both your gfx card and monitor installed...there should also be a control on your monitor to adjust the brightness...

I actually did. But I'm really not feeling comfortable when using internet or browsing computer. Games and movies look prefect and I've no problem with that.

Most LCD have presets for gaming, movies, internet etc.

I use the "internet" setting most of the time to avoid sun burn

I just a new LG W2486L 24" LED display and it is REALLY bright. It may just need some time to get use to it. Also there are several setting in your nvidia control center that may help. make sure you have the most current graphic drivers.

Is it just me running 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz or most of you guys too? I remeber on my old 17inch monitor (It was not slim one, it was CRT I guess) I use to set refrest rate to 75Hz and it was very pleasuring to eyes. I wounder my new LCD not harm my eyes cause its running at 60Hz

LCDs do not have a refresh rate like CRT monitors do. 60Hz on a LCD will not cause you eye strain (and headaches) like it would on a CRT.

Refresh rate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Much of the discussion of refresh rate does not apply to the liquid crystal portion of an LCD monitor. This is because while a CRT monitor uses the same mechanism for both illumination and imaging, LCDs employ a separate backlight to illuminate the image being portrayed by the LCD's liquid crystal shutters. The shutters themselves do not have a 'refresh rate' as such due to the fact that they always stay at whatever opacity they were last instructed to continuously, and do not become more or less transparent until instructed to produce a different opacity."
