Help... WD Mybook is causing problems on boot up
I have had my new computer for about 4 months now and have used my WD external drive on it for that long with no problems. Now when I turn on my computer it gives me the following message:
Checking file system on C:
The type of the file system is NTFS
One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue.
To skip disk checking, press any key within 10 second(s).
It then starts to count down from 10---if Mybook is plugged in it freezes at this screen and will not go any further no matter if I hit any key before the 10 seconds is up. If I unplug Mybook and restart the computer using a hard reboot it still goes to this screen but will continue to boot after the 10 seconds and the pressing of any key.
This just started this week! Is there a patch out there to help Windows 7 and Mybook to communicate better?
