    Want to upgrade CPU, but need some help! Please!!


    Hey there all. Just wanted to ask a question, and get some feeback. I am going to upgrade my CPU a little. And I wanted to know. Will an AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8Ghz AM3 CPU work on a Gigabyte GA-M59SLI-S5 rev. 1.0 motherboard. I just ordered the CPU and I also got a new motherboard. But I wanted to use my old board if i could. Any help would greatly appreciated.

    I have been to the Gigabytw website numerous times. And it doesn't list my new CPU on my MOBO specs. But I've also read in different forums. That an AM3 CPU will work on an AM2+ MOBO, but not vise versa. So if it's not listed for my mobo. I wonder if it will still work anyway? Thanks!!
