SD Card Reader Issue

try theog's method if that dont work then we're all stumped ,just out of curiosity are you using the same usb port every time you try? :)

I'm using the SD Slot, of which there is only one.

is there a lock/unlock slider on the sd card check its set to unlock

It is set to unlock. I've just found another SD card which I have literally just put into my laptop - it still doesn't let me alter anything on the card, so it's definitely something to do with the card reader and not my card. So annoying lol!

Tonight once I put my son to bed, I might restore to 'factory settings' and see if I get any joy. Although, I'm pretty sure it's been the same since I first upgraded to windows 7. Oh, I don't know. What would you suggest?

Go to pebbly driver link, reinstall the drivers, first.

If you go for the Factory recovery.
BACKUP,BACKUP,BACKUP,BACKUP,BACKUP,BACKUP first.

i would use that as a last resort , if everything else runs fine i would just reinstall the reader driver or invest a couple of quids in a usb/sd adaptor i use one myself for my sd cards :)

So, since nothing's worked, I've decided to buy a usb card reader. I didn't realise how cheap they were lol!
