Mobo upgrade Q6600
I have a Gateway FX7024 w/a very overclockable Q6600. Can someone recommend a good mobo that hasnt been discontinued?
I am running DDR2 5300 memory that compatibility is a must..

Just a couple of reccomendations of the top of my head:
The Asus P5q Pro and Deluxe are good overclockers. I'm pretty sure they can handle 5300
The Nvidia 750i, 780i boards are pretty popular too.
It also depends on whether you prefer nvidia or ATI, plan to go SLI or crossfire as well.
I havent confirmed this yet but someone else is telling me that I cannot simply change a mobo in a Gateway since Gateway do not follow the ATX standards. This person says I need a new PS and a Case!...dam

I confirmed I have a Micro ATX mobo....so as long as I stick to this form factor, I can buy any mATX that supports my hw, right?
if it does indeed follow the mATX form factor standard then yes. i didn't think PC builders (dell, gateway, hp) used proprietary parts anymore. how powerful is your power supply?
motherboard manufacturers have only recently started to cater to the mATX OCing crowd. so there are few options in terms of high performance mATX solutions. DFI and ASUS are pretty much your only options.
i only use mATX boards since my case is an Antec P180mini.
the DFI LP JR P45-T2RS is supposed to be a great board but i've never used it.
i've used both the ASUS P5Q-EM and the P5E-VM HDMI. in my opinion the P5E-VM HDMI was a more stable board and a better clocker.
My ps is 400w....well at least I have narrowed my search where before I blindly searched for anything that accepted an LGA775..I will check out those mobo's..thanks
