    NTFS Part changed to RAW

Turned on my computer today and the error check came up at startup to check drive G:. Ran threw that and it found some bad sectors and fixed them, so I thought everything would be okay. Went to my G: drive and clicked on it only to find it wouldn't open and wanted to format it. Checked Disk Management and the drive was listed as RAW? Anyways was able to use R-Studio to restore my files, but was wondering if there is a way to use my hard disk again? Meaning is it totally f**d or is it just a prob with the boot record or something, and some way to fix it. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

You might try a repair install, if that does not do it you may use something like this to recover the data, then format it so you can use it. It's probably some Windows file that's corrupt is my guess.

Free Data Recovery Software, EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Beta for free undelete files and unformat drives.

    cadurling,

The size of your G: drive is?

Is G: an internal drive, an external drive or what?

How many Disks? (use DiskMgmt.MSC). A snapshot of the map displayed by DiskMgmt.MSC would be informative.

    Which Win 7 version?

Do you have a recent backup of data on that drive? I fear that the problem will reappear, perhaps even in a worse form.

Is the hard disk with the drive problem making noises?
