USB keyboard not working AFTER boot

    Hello guys,

today my keyboard (hama wireless keyboard 2,4 G) stopped working after i changed my PSU. I hope i didn't fry anything but i doubt it because:

    * the keyboard is working during boot (e.g. i can access the bios (and yes, everything is enabled there) and i can select the os in bootloader)
    * when booting into ubuntu (on the same machine) the keyboard is working fine
    * all other usb devices (usb mouse, external harddrive, usb sticks) are working.

During boot (black screen with win logo) the NUMPAD led is glowing (and responding) up to about one second before the login screen. Then the led goes off and the keyboard is dead.

I also tried another usb keyboard and different usb ports without success (unfortunately i don't have a ps2 keyboard around anymore so i couldn't try one of these).
I tried booting in safe mode, keyboard aren't working there either.

    System specs:
    OS: Windows 7 64bit / Ubuntu 9.10 64bit (dualboot via Wubi)
    Mainboard: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe SocketAM2
    CPU: AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+
    RAM: 4x Kingston 1024MB DDR2 800Mhz
GPU: MSI Geforce GX 260 896MB
    HDD: 2x Seagate HD SATAII 300GB (RAID0)
PSU: Be Quiet BQT S6-SYS-UA-450W (before: Fortron ATX 350W)

Let me know if you need any additional info!
I hope you guys have an idea because i am completely lost

    Regards Roman

Roman can you go into device manager (type device manager in search). Check to make sure there are no "unknown" devices with yellow triangles on them. Is the USB hub and root, installed and working correctly?

There were no yellow triangles but i found two entries named "Interrupt EP1" and Interrupt EP2" (might actually be named differently, i'm translating the german version here). After deleting one of them i got the "new device found" dialog and now it's working again. I have no idea why i haven't seen them earlier, because checking the device manager was among the first things i did.

Anyway, it works now, sorry for bothering you and thanks for the help!

I DO wonder what causes this. my USB keyboard stops working when I transfer a large number/size files from my camera/camcorder. I have to disconnect then connect it to make it work.....and the drivers are fine. Everything looks good in device manager.

Could it have something to do with the IRQ's ? just a guess. I have run into a few situations similar to this and was unable to pin point the problem as well.

Yes, I guess it's just a Windows "fluke" It doesn't bother me too much because it doesn't happen every time. I cannot re-produce the problem. Ah well. If I ever find the answer, I will be sure to post it here somewhere.

On my secondary comp the keyboard will quit working when I reboot, then start working once back @ win7 login screen. Few times it hasn't restored functionality even once back @ CAD & I'd have to reseat the keyboard's usb.

This causes me to miss booting into WinXP at times.

I've tried everything except reinstall of windows to fix the issue and no luck yet.
