    Some really weird problems

    Hey,

So, I got two problems actually.

Here's the first one: When I play Left 4 Dead, I can hear slight snapping in the background. After a while it will turn in to loud screeching and hissing and popping and the sound will go out. The sound will later start the loud screeching and etc. and the sound will come back. It does this 3 to 4 times and then the sound will totally go out and not return. The weird part is that when the sound goes out after the 3-4 times, my WLAN will also go out. I have to restart my computer to get the connection back.

    2) I got a really low score on 3Dmark Vantage. I ran it on performance preset and my total score was about 18500 marks. My processor scored something along 24300 marks while the GPU scored only about 16000 marks. I searched the ORB for similar setups and they all got total score of about 24000 marks.

Any help on either of the issues would be greatly appreciated!

Poro, are your chipset drivers up to date?
Nice rig by the way. You look like you overclock this. Have you tried without OC to see if the problem persists?

    Hey wally,

    Chipset is up to date.

I tried it without the OC and it worked fine. Then I turned the overclock on again and raised the memory speed to 1603 MHz and then the sound was fine again, so it was a problem with my RAM.

Still got the second problem tho. Any ideas on that one?

Hey Poro, thanks for the feedback. So the sound is good now?

Unfortunately I have to pass on the 3DMark Vantage score, no experience with that. Your hardware looks tip-top to me, I wouldn't know how to recommend any improvement.
