Brand new W7 laptop but battery lasts less than hour!

Thanks Peb, obviously it's not a one size fits all so I'll have to make contact with HP. Things like that really irk me off; they should simply include in the box! Anyway, even if i can't purchase I will do as you folk suggested: every week run only from the battery and then plug back in. Thanks all as always for your patience and help.
