    SOS CPU wont fit

    OK problem people
after you would not believe i received a t7400 ordered for my inspiroron 1525
    the CPU wont fit
    what?
i did allot of homework on this one but i guess not good enough
i have 6 more days for a refund
or i would just prefer an exchange to an adequate duo core
    i have a m550 in it now
the whole deal is running win7 ultimate and vxp mode
    I'm at a loss
i have a xps m170 but i don't believe that it will work in it either
i want to upgrade my 1525 to a duo core and stay around the 2 ghz range
    what to do
    SOS

Would you run the CPU-Z tool and on the mainboard tab get the model of your mobo? Is it Mobile Intel GM965 Express or something different. If it's GM965 you could probably run the Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 / 2.1 GHz processor. But, IMO, to be safe, everything what you can do is to upgrade to the Celeron M570 / 2.26GHz CPU.

Also the CPU-Z can provide the CPU socket type.

    Hope it helps.

anyway ill post my results on the t7300

Offtopic, but HP has horrible tech service. I kept sending in my dv6000 laptop for repair or replacement, but they kept sending it back saying there was nothing wrong until the warranty ran out. The GPU essentially melted, and this was a widespread problem with this model. This issue is still happening with newer models and HP still refuses to do nothing more than replace the faulty parts with more faulty parts. That's why I'm never buying HP again.

Never had a problem with HP service. Usually, once I tell them that I am a tech we cut down all the crap and finally I get what I'm asking for.

Website is very good I think.

Well their hardware is of good quality, but the fact that they kept claiming nothing was wrong pissed me off. Here's an explanation of the problem DV6000/DV9000 NVidia Issue fix! - HP Support Forum
