I am running my AMD test system with the 965BE on this board which is a breeze of OC with.

Decent price at NewEgg but not seeing where you are located that might not help you.

Just remember that you are going to need new ram to go with it (DDR2 or DDR3, better to go with DDR3), but seeing as you are currently using onboard video and to save on having to buy a video card as well pretty much and of the 785G based motherboards will do. This should give you and idea what to look for,

    Newegg.com - Computer Hardware,Motherboards,AMD Motherboards,AMD,AMD 785G

see what is available for you locally and we can go from there.

After long hours of researching this is what I've come out with:

    HARDWARE:

    PHENOM II AM3 X4 965 Black Edition (3.40 GHz) RM600

    ASUS EAH4350 512MB D2 64BIT (PCI-E) RM135

    HDD 160GB Western Digital BLUE (ST8) RM125

    HDD 500GB Western Digital BLUE (ST16) RM160

    Microsoft Wired (M. & K.) Desktop 500 RM45

Cheap PC casing for old CPU RM120

Cheap Fan for old PC (Small) - x2 RM10

Good Quality Fan for new CPU (Small) RM30

Left for the motherboard and the RAM.

Now i am really not sure which motherboard to choose because some said if i put 4GB of ram my Windows OS will only detect 3GB or less ==

...and some said that Windows XP is not Supported in this AMD CPU.

    I need this PC to:
    1) To support Windows 7 Pro & Windows XP Pro (Dual Boot)
    2) To support Parallel ATA Port for my old HDD & DVD ROM

After all that i have a balance of $RM775 for my Motherboard , Power Unit & Ram.

*PS: RM means Ringgit Malaysia - My currency*

I searched www.newegg.com for an AM3 board with at least one PATA controller (2 devices) and no onboard video. Only two boards came up, this is the least expensive:

    Newegg.com - MSI 770-C45 AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

    (MSI 770-C45)

You'd have more choices if onboard video was acceptable. (Probably OK, but I'd prefer not to risk a conflict.)

    A good PSU:

Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies

    (Corsair CMPSU-550VX 550W)

    and some RAM:

    Newegg.com - OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) XMP-Ready Rev.2 Desktop Memory Model OCZ3X1600R2LV4GK - Desktop Memory

(2X 2GB, OCZ3X1600R2LV4GK). I'm using that on an Intel motherboard.

These may put you over budget, if the Malaysian prices are identical to those in the US, but not grossly over. If I had to trim, I'd probably go to 2X 1GB of RAM.
