Motherboard problem

For some reason my GIGABYTE GA-M720-US3 (rev. 1.0) mobo can not start up when i have my AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.10ghz Callisto 45nm installed, i tried and tried and never any luck, the monitor does not start up or anything, i have tested it and the mobo is all right. Now i m using my other mobo which is not as good. Sucks like.

Please help me with this/

Make sure the CPU is set completely. It might look like it is, but not be locked in. If it is not, it wont run.

no, but you might have to re-activate it as you will get a prompt that says it is not genuine. I think this is how it goes.

Check the Gigabyte web site and see what Bios version supports that CPU. A Bios upgrade may cure the problem.
