Thanks Pebbly for solving this i'll give you some reputation points - a few months back I would of thought of this myself when we were dealing with the RC- i guess my memory aint what it used to be. Ill also mark the thread as solved.

Can this problem be fixed? If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, you will have these random accelerations occur. The only way to reduce it that I have found is to lower the polling rate to 125hz. It has nothing to do with hardware, it is just the way Windows deals with filtering mouse...
