Do you know how to set up dual booting XP and W7? At least nothing will be wasted if you cant get it to work. Sorry i think you have raid setup - i know you can do it Ill do a search later, and see if can find the instructions if your interested.
I'm not really interested in a dual boot system.
I could just plug units back into the other computer, but I'd rather find out what this particular issue is about. I like the problem solving.
I use old puter for surfing, and emails. I use new puter for just flying. Old puter is unstable, thats why I built new one. When oldy finally crashes, I'll shift over all to newbie.
Newbie is stable as hell, and way faster. All scores are fairly high, from WEI to ATTO.

Unfortunately I have no input in regards to solving your issue either, but kudos on the home made controller

Aside from running the most recent February 2010 DX redistributable, could this possibly be an online lag issue?

That DX update is for developers to include the level of DX they used with there app. I saw no update for DX 11 in all those files.

Not a lag issue, balk happens in offline mode. Its either a mechanical issue with my equipment, an issue with DX interaction, or an issue with the game software and W7. I have replaced dam near every component once, except for wiring harness. Getting ready to do that, WTF, only thing left mech wise.

Have you tried the latest nvidia drivers? download from Guru3D.com

Have you tried running the games in compatbility mode with xp - try with xpsp2 and others.

To run a program in compatibility mode - right click a short-cut to the program, or find the program in program files and do likewise - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista/xp etc - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start the program.

You might even reinstall it in compatibility mode, but try that lastly.
    Yes, Yes Yes and Yes,
I did check it offline with 9.0c installed, appeared better. Need to test it on-line, will post results.

    TY 4 efforts
    Whest,
I realized I may have jumped the gun here. So I was gonna try to run game in compat mode for Vista, XP not available. But compat mode is not available for game. I have set up a task sched for game that stops the UAC pop-up from pestering me, Brinks tutorial.
Will said task close off compat mode to games icon?

I think you might be onto the problem when you said you think it might be to do with the games and W7, there is a large decrease in frame rate to do with some games and w7 - eg Im a fan of unreal tournament - ut 2003 & ut 2004 both run about 15% faster on xp than they do on W7. This was always a issue with vista also - it only came to my mind when smartey - ball mentioned lag - maybe you have that frame rate drop also with your games - what you can do is download a program to confirm the frame drop - fraps i think its called. If this is the case you might be able to lesson the effect by Overclocking your cpu and graphics cards. This is unconfirmed, and to do so you would have to hook up to your old PC, however, when running fraps you would be able to see if there is a frame rate drop in those specific places, as fraps runs in the corner of the screen. If you have a fast running game a 15% frame rate drop would be hard to detect, but, maybe enough to effect the problem spots, so fraps maybe of help.

    Fraps 3.2.2 download from Guru3D.com

If you tying to turn off compatibility mode you just right click the short cut, or exe programme, and deselect "run in compatibility mode with the selected OS", and deselect "run as a administrator" if you selected that also. Im not sure what you mean here. If your saying it wont let you select compatibility mode I havent a answer.

I am OC'ed, no FPS drop.
3DMark06 score is 23700. Get FPS up to 300f/s
WEI graphics score, both categories 7.9
I think the momentaries balk is software related, but how I do not know.
I have noticed no game play difference between XP and W7, other than the controllers button balk. Momentaries are controller buttons.
Remember, this thread was about the game controller, not graphics.
I have turned off many W7 services.

I have scheduled a task that gives high privlidges to the game, as a result it prevents the UAC notifications from poping up, when I load the game. The question was, by scheduling such a task, does it blank out the compatibility option in the games icon properties?

No its not an overall drop - in fact its related to cpu usage and some games as ut2003 drop the cpu usage in W7 - its not all games and 3d mark is ok, however, you know the problem the best, Im just putting forward possibilites. I wouldnt think it blanks out compatibilty mode for the games - it would be grayed out, or unavaiable when you select it, I guess, if it were effecting anything - your saying it does with high priveleges enabled is this true?
For more info type "compatibility mode options" in help

Here are the settings in detail :

    Compatibility mode
Runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows. Try this setting if you know the program is designed for (or worked in) a specific previous version of Windows.

    Run in 256 colors
Uses a limited set of colors in the program. Some older programs are designed to use fewer colors.

    Run in 640 × 480 screen resolution
Runs the program in a smaller-sized window. Try this setting if the graphical user interface appears jagged or is rendered improperly.

    Disable visual themes
Disables themes on the program. Try this setting if you notice problems with the menus or buttons on the title bar of the program.

    Disable desktop composition
Turns off transparency and other advanced display features. Choose this setting if window movement appears erratic or you notice other display problems.

Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
Turns off automatic resizing of programs if large-scale font size is in use. Try this setting if large-scale fonts are interfering with the appearance of the program. For more information, see Make the text on your screen larger or smaller.

    Privilege level
Runs the program as an administrator. Some programs require administrator privileges to run properly. If you are not currently logged on as an administrator, this option is not available.

    Change settings for all users
Lets you choose settings that will apply to all users on this computer

A momentary balk is usually related to loading something from the hard drive you would think, as this is the slowest access in a game - or a background process but a background process wouldnt show up in the same spot, so unlikely - maybe the ssd drives are causing the issue or something related to hard drive access.

If you ran fraps at least you could see whether the frame rate was dropping abnormally around the balk and this would be an access problem or overload on the system?
Personally i woud be hesitant to run fraps without a restore point - i hate any addon software myself - time and time again they cause problems.

I was googling something else and it brought back to my own posts. LOL

Turns out the the issue I was having was the copper wire failing. The one thing I had not looked at because how could 5volts wear out the copper wire. Always go to the basics first.
