There are no known issues with Windows 7 and large drives.

Make sure the 250GB drive is set to be the first in the boot priority, in your BIOS.

Try manually booting from the Windows drive, via the popup boot menu.

Can you attach the 500GB drive after Windows is booted?

    So you have three drives?

    1.) 250 GB
    2.) 160 GB
    3.) 500 GB

Is that correct? Also, are they all SATA drives?

Sorry for asking such elementary questions, but like I said, I start at ground zero when I troubleshoot. Here's just a few more painful questions.

1.) Did you have the 500 GB drive hooked up when you reinstalled Windows on the 250 GB drive?

2.) Does the BIOS recognize the 500 GB drive?

3.) Is there a master/slave jumper on any of the drives? Yes, some SATA's do indeed have them.

4.) Do you have auto detect setting in the BIOS for your drives? If so, select auto detect for all drives.

5.) Do you currently have an operating system installed on the 500 GB drive, or is just a storage drive?

Answering these questions will undoubtedly result in me being able to fix you up tonight.
