Can you buy the laptop express cards yet? I know they made the PCMIA cards for laptops when USB 2.0 came out.

EDIT: I must be living under a rock. I feel stupid not knowing these weren't out yet.

I'm answering my own question. Here is a express card slot I'm going to buy:

Thanks for letting me know that this is out!

USB 3 should be backwards compatible to USB 2.
I was thinking perhaps getting a HDD dock and then buy some external USB 3 HDDs. Have to wait a while though.

Just ordered this WD 1TB USB 3.0 :) The supplier ran CrystalDisk to test
Is that compatible when connected to a USB 2.0 port ???
or can it plug into a USB 2.0 ???
USB3.0 are backwards compatible. Obviously tho you'll only get USB2.0 speeds

I’ve been looking at this USB 3.0 Enclosure .. And this SATA 6.0Gb/s HDD to put in it.
But .. Would rather find an enclosure for a SATA 6.0Gb/s HD.

Take that WD external apart .. and tell us what HDD is in it .. please

    Here's a WD 1TB Green (32MB cache) in an External enclosure ....
connected via eSATA and then connected via USB 2.0

I'm wondering if SATA 3 and USB 3.0 are faster than the current drive technology can feed ??

Definitely. The devices that can feed it at full capapcity have still to be invented. Even SSDs are too slow.
