USB 2.0 controller issue.

I've read through loads of posts for months regarding USB 2.0 and the 'this device can perform faster' problem. All of the fixes I have found never solved the problem.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the usb drivers.
I've updated my chipset.
I can't find anything that can fix this problem and it's really annoying me cause it takes like an hour just to transfer 1 movie to my external HDD.
Does anyone know of any other fixes that might work for me?
also i've noticed I have 8 entrys for usb ports in device manager, 2 are usb 2.0 enhanced host controller. odd thing is i only have 3 usb ports on my laptop.
Thank you in advance!

here are my system specs.

What are you trying to connect? Are you sure it is USB 2.0?

Yeah, Device Manager lists the controllers as well as the ports. Sometimes, it also includes "plugged in" devices or internal devices that use a USB connection like the media card reader for my laptop.

Hi, have you checked the same in BIOS. Is USB 2.0 enabled there. In my BIOS, I can change the values and it works as 1.1 and 2.0. I am not sure on the values though. Fastest or something must be the value.

Hmm...this happens with all of your USB 2.0 devices with all your ports?

Check your Battery/Power settings. There might be something in there? Also right-click all the USB devices and go to their properties in Device Manager. Any information there?
