Which Hard drive Shall i get!?

Hello, i have a 5 year old acer aspire 3050 running windows 7 perfectly.
Only probelm is i have filled up the harddrive so im looking to upgrade it.
The connection is Ide and not SATA so please dont say get one :P..
These are the two i am looking at:

Generic Notebook Hard Disk 2.5 Inch Drive 160GB IDE - 1: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

This has a slower spin(5200) speed but a 2mb-16mb chache

    Samsung HM160HC 160GB 5400prm PATA: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Faster spin speed (5400) only an 8mb chache

Firstly which one do you guys and gals think i could buy?

    Secondly any other suggestions?

I recommend the one with the bigger cache. The 200 RPM difference is insignificant at best. They are essentially the same speed.

The easy way out would be an external USB drive to which you can offload all the big files (video, music, pictures). You can use them just as well from an external drive and you can easily include the folders into the libraries (works for external disks but not for USB sticks).

Hmm, I guess. I always lug a little 2.5" USB powered 500GB external drive with my laptops because that's where I keep all the files that I need. For me that is easier because then I need not maintain those files on 3 seperate Laptops (and 2 desktops). But for a single laptop that may be an extra inconvenience.

Well OP said OP only wants IDE/ATA drive!

But on the other hand, blowing an Xtra tenner on an ATA<>SATA adaptor (if there was room) . . . . .
