    That's good news! You may want to take a close look at the connector to see if that got stretched a little and simply wasn't making enough contact. Or by moving it around port to port you have dislodged some debris(dust, dirt) that got in there.

    LOL@MADMAXDATA, that seems the case lol, you guys scared it into operating properly... so glad its working again (even though nothing was done to it, well except the usual diagnosis stuff)

    It sounds like Windows finally got around to detecting it properly. At least you now know it wasn't anything serious like a hardware fault or ?

    (gosh I got to going here fast. the SF gang is on my case! )
