smarteyeball, I think we are in agreement - more or less. And I only made this mention (PS: I happen to have 3 SSDs for 3 different systems) to demonstrate my conviction (put your money where your mouth is) and that I have made the comparisons myself - not inputs from 3d parties. I can assure you that even my quad core system with 4GB of RAM was a lame duck compared to my moderate 2.5GHz duo core and 3GB of RAM with an SSD. That's when I decided to equip all my systems with SSDs (still 2 to go though - those are laptops where I need bigger SSDs and bigger $$'s).

OK I know it is probably overkill for us but!!! I hope it will last awhile (now when have I said that before)
This laptop is new and I do have problem with glare on this. As for the SSD well the prices are still too high here as much as I think it is the way to go for the OS.
As for building a CPU myself well I know it is cheaper and I could get the specs I need/want but how easy
is it to fry things for a novice builder.

Sergiogarcia9 I think my shuttle (built by no1 son 2005) could be dead by 5 months if not will be.

Smartyeball my husband is the kid

whs ran the win7 advisor monitor didn't show up at all that doesn't look good?

I had a look at the Philips website. The latest driver I saw was for Vista (which could possibly work - but who knows). But I am not certain if I got your exact model because there were 7 different ones with the model number you posted. maybe you want to have a look yourself: Philips - Search Once you got to your model, look on the left side for "Software and Drivers".

Have a look at the post above your last one. You may have missed it since we posted at the same time.

LOL, you are always faster than me.

I agree with whs; you need to update your monitor. Your eyes will thank you. I updated last year.
