Cant map Dot Matrix to XP from Win7 64

We have been using dot matrix printer over our network of 6 machines for years using the following command.
    NET USE LPT2:\\Brad\SERVICE/ PERSISTENT:YES

Just installed Win7 64 bit machine (1 Win 7 64 bit and 5 XP 32 bit machines on network) and everything runs except the connection to this printer from the win7 machine.

I checked for 64 bit drivers and Microsoft says that it is widows 7 64 bit compatable.

When I installed the printer on the Win7 machine it installed and if I do a test page it works but after redirecting to LPT2 the program that we run that needs the dot matrix machine ACTS like it is printing but the print job goes nowhere.

In past we would go to start button, RUN and type in that command. Even on reboot the command would remain.

I was reading somewhere on this forum to make a bat file and run as administrator so I have done this too but it still is not working.

    Any suggestions?

Have you enabled printer sharing in Devices and Printers in Control Panel? - right click the printer - printer properties - sharing - and set it up - then the printer server properties up the top become available (i dont know much about that) - it also needs to be enabled in Network and Sharing - Control Panel - Change Advanced Sharing Options on the right. You may need to rerun the network wizards in xp (im not sure) - basically this is for one W7pc, and one XP laptop, but should be similar if you cant get your command to work.
This is how i setup advanced sharing options:
Well dont use homegroup, and also make sure the workgroup is named the same as xp eg MSHOME (RIGHT CLICK COMPUTER). Go to Control Panel - Network and Sharing - Change Advanced sharing settings on left -
    try these settings
1 network discovery - turn on
2 file and printer sharing - turn on
3 public folder sharing - turn off (optional)
4 media streaming - turn off (optional)
5 file sharing connections - use 128 bit
6 password protect - turn off (optional but wont work unless you enable passwords)
7 homegroup connections - use user accounts and passwords
